The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has demanded for proof from Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma that INEC Staff in the South East are loyal to the PDP.

It challenged the Imo Governor to provide evidence to substantiate his claims.

Governor Uzodinma had on Friday while briefing newsmen after visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at State House, Abuja, accused INEC senior staff in the South East of belonging to the PDP.

He said “All we are asking is that INEC should remain neutral especially in the Southeast.

“All INEC senior staff in the Southeast are obviously PDP carf carrying members to the extent once a result is not in the favour of the PDP it will go out to upturn the result.

In response to the allegations, INEC in a statement by Chief Press Secretary to INEC National Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, he said casting aspersions on the commission cannot deter it from doing the right thing.

INEC said “It is quite surprising that Mr.Hope Uzodinma is affirming that all INEC senior staff in the South East are card carrying members of a political party.

It How did he come to that conclusion. The Commission will be grateful if he could supply the INEC headquarters with the compelling proof of that allegation so that action can be taken.
