He said Mike Nwachukwu decided to come over to the APC as a believer in the policies and programmes of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.

” Mike Nwachukwu contested for the senate in 2019 on the platform of APGA because our President, Buhari had told Imolites then, to vote for candidates of their choice across party lines. He said “I ran a good race. I campaigned across the nooks and crannies of Owerri zone. I went to all the wards in the zone. Our people accepted and embraced our aspiration. And during the elections, they came out and voted for me.

“I was the candidate to beat. But in the end, there were flaws in the electoral process. We know how and why we lost and how some forces upturned our victory.

He continued “I was on the verge of victory before we were robbed in the end. But never again shall our victory be denied us. I remain hopeful and confident that with your support this time, we will succeed and never again will the choice of the people Owerri zone for the senate be truncated.
