Imo State Commissioner for Transportation, Chief (Barr) Rex Anunobi (Sokom) says the Shared Prosperity government of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma has concluded plans to change the face of Imo state Transport Company (ITC) for an improved service delivery.
Speaking during his second inspection tour/working visit to Imo Transport Company, MCC Uratta road Owerri on Wednesday, the Honourable Commissioner who was conducted round the premesis by the Acting General Manager of ITC, Chief Ifeanyi Ibeh, frowned at the near moribund state of the company with many buses/fleets recklessly grounded.
After inspecting the facilities including serviceable, unserviceable and operational vehicles, Barr. Anunobi disclosed that his ministry is taking critical steps aimed at rebranding, repositioning ITC as a top revenue earner for the state in line with the Shared Prosperity vision of Gov. Hope Uzodinma.
He further disclosed plans to make ITC a leading transportation company in the South East, adding that the present government will ever remain committed to the safety and satisfaction of Imolites and would begin with ITC to exemplify its readiness to satisfy Imo citizens.
He further directed the GM to profile the working condition of all serviceable vehicles and forward same to his office for necessary actions.
The Honourable Commissioner of Transport was accompanied by the Perm. Sec. Ministry of Transportation, Mrs Ngozi Izunobi and some Directors in the ministry as well as his Technical Team which has Hon. Franklin Iwunze(Ogbuagu Nkwerre), Hon. Steve Agbarakwe and Ebere Uzoukwa as members.
