Scores Feared Dead, As 7 Storey Building Collapses In Owerri

 A seven storey building under construction located at Yar’ Adua drive, Owerri has collapsed.

Eyewitness informed INNONEWS that about 30 persons were trapped in the building before it collapsed.

As at last night, debris of the collapsed building was been carried out and about seven persons were rescued at the time of filing this report.

They were taken to a nearby hospital.

Different stories were given by some of the witnesses as reason of the collapse of the building.

” The pillars were weak and not strong enough to hold the eight storey building.

“There were cracks in some parts of the building” said an eye witness who claimed to have seen when the building collapsed

Rescue efforts have commenced and is likely to continue until more people are rescued from the debris.

Good spirited individuals have been of help as they also joined the rescue operation.
