Details Emerge Why Okorocha May Not Dump APC For PDP ‘For Now’

Despite speculations in the media in Imo State, that he will soon exit from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, to the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, there are emerging indications that former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, may not be in a hurry to cross over to the PDP, a source close to the former Governor has revealed.

Okorocha’s alleged move to the PDP had been reported in the media since last week, but it seems the ex Governor’s political camp may be behind the story to assess and weigh public opinion on the alleged defection.

The source said “for now, Okorocha is in the APC because he is a founding member of the party. He is going no where until perhaps certain political permutations play out in the future”

The Imo State chapter of the PDP has kept mute on the issue, though the Media Director of the party, Mr. Ambrose Nwaogwugwu was quoted by an online medium to have said that the reported move to the PDP by the former Governor is a rumour.

The source who spoke on condition of anonymity continued ‘It is too early to predict the former Governor and his next political move.

“His political foot steps will be guided by unfolding political events in the political landscape in the country from now to 2023.

“At the moment, he is in the APC and a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria elected on the platform of the party

“And I wonder where some local newspapers in Imo State got the information that there is love lost between Okorocha and Governor Hope Uzodinma which is one the reasons they claimed the former Governor wants to leave the party

There were reports last week that loyalists of the former Governor are divided over his next political move.

However, the ex Governor’s media handlers have kept mute on the speculation despite it’s persistent trend on the social media
