The Federal Government for the first time revealed the drugs used and applied in treating coronavirus patients in Nigeria.
Nigeria has so far recorded 2802 cases while 93 persons have died from the coronavirus infection.
“We have been using that (Remdesivir); we have tried that in Lagos too,” Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire said in Abuja on Tuesday.
“So, we have tried the antiretroviral drug to see what effect it has” he stated.
He also revealed that Nigeria has moved from disease importation to community spread.
Recall that the US had approved emergency use of Remdesivir, for treatment of the disease.
The drug was proved effective against covid 19 by the United States National Institute Of Health.
