N19.63 LG Funds: Imo Assembly Commitee Invites Ex Commissioner, Bank Manager

The Imo State House of Assembly is proceeding with its investigation of over N19.63 billion naria local government funds allegedly mismanaged during the tenures of two former Governors, Rochas Okorocha and Emeka Ihedioha.

The investigation is based on the report of the Auditor General for Local Governments.

A statement by the Public Accounts Commitee Chairman of the House of Assembly, Hon.Chigozie Nwaneri, stated that following the report of the Auditor General of the local Government on misappropriation of funds and sequel to the motion passed by the Imo State House of Assembly, the Public Accounts Commitee (PAC), of the House invited a former Commissioner for local government, Gertrude Oduka, one Ifeanyi Opara, of the office of the Chief Of Staff, Mr.E.A Asonye Igwe, a former Permanent Secretary and Managing Director, Wall House, and a bank manager of Zenith Bank.

According to the statement they are to appear before the committee on Monday, 1st June, 2020 at the Office of the Chairman, House Commitee On Public Accounts, IMHA, Ikemba Ojukwu Convention center, Owerri
