Made In Nigeria Ventilators Unveiled

The fight against covid 19 in Nigeria is succeeding as the Projects Development Institute, PRODA, Enugu, has built locally made ventilators, against the virus and other diseases.

The ventilators were displayed on Tuesday at PRODA office, Enugu, Enugu State by the Taskforce Committee which carried out a demonstration of how the equipment can be used.

According to a statement by Dr.Ugochukwu Lawrence Okorozoh,  PRODA’s Head of industrial promotions, PRODA’s Director General, Engr.C.N Agulanna, commended the Committee for a job well done and directed that the ventilators should be taken to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH Enugu for pilot use.

This he said he will encourage feedbacks which would be utilized in the production of subsequent versions of the ventilators.

The DG called on the Federal Government for more funding for it’s research.

He said PRODA do have the capacity to save huge sums of foreign exchange spent on importation of science, engineering, Technological equipment and machineries.

Nigeria is one of the countries affected the Covid 19 pandemic with over 8,000 infected persons.
