The Imo State Task Force on Covid 19 has revealed that of the 86 recorded cases, 12 are active and they are being treated at two different centres in Owerri, six at FMC Isolation Centre and another six at Well- being centre along Orlu Road, also in Owerri, Imo State capital
According to him, the cases are three females and nine males.
Speaking to newsmen at the Task force office in Owerri, Wednesday, Prof Iwu said that contact tracing of active cases in Imo State is in top gear. He revealed that the State has recorded covid 19 related death of somebody who died in his house, but whose blood sample tested positive to the virus.
Prof Iwu advised that anyone that has the trace of infected persons or suspects of covid 19, should not fail to report to the committee.
He reiterated that three categories of people are at risk of covid 19, persons of 65 years and above, people suffering from diseases or other ailments and the third group, health workers who come in contact with the Covid–19 daily.
