Governor Hope Uzodinma , has been described as a divine gift, to the people of Imo State.
This was disclosed by a former Councillor who represented Emeabiam/Okoolochi ward in Owerri West LGA, Hon. Iyke Anyanwu- Nwosu (Kabaka), while speaking to newsmen in Owerri.
He explained that Uzodinma’s coming to power is divine considering the circumstances which led him to the seat of power of the State.
He said “We understand how he became Governor of Imo State. He never had the interest to contest for the position in the first place. When he later joined the race, he was denied of victory which the Supreme Court rightly corrected by declaring him the the rightful Governor of Imo State. Such act is divine act.
Anyanwu said barely few months in office, Governor Uzodinma, has showed capacity to govern the state, stating that he will faithfully implement the 3rs, Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery, aimed at developing the State.
Anyanwu commended the bio metric verification of workers introduced by state government, which he described as well intended in order to rid the state of ghost workers.
He said “ It is only agents of darkness, agents of bad governance that will criticize what Governor Hope Uzodinma is doing. There is nothing wrong if workers are told to bring their BVN. Except you are a ghost worker, you will become afraid of submitting your BVN.
“Governor Uzodinma has shown that he loves the people of Imo State. He means well. You can see how some of the major roads in the state are being rehabilitated barely few months in office. He deserves applause for that.
The ex Councillor also stated that Governor Uzodinma deserves commendation for stopping payment of pensions, gratuities to former Governors of the State, former Deputy Governors and past Speakers of the State House of Assembly.
“This shows he has courage. He has saved the state billions of naria which were pocketed by these former Governors and former House of Assembly Speakers. This will certainly benefit the people of the State.
