Eze Ohiri ‘Technically Sacked’ As Chairman, Imo Council Of Traditional Rulers

There are fresh concerns on the fate of Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Sam Ohiri.

Governor Hope Uzodinma had recently appointed Eze Sam Okeke, as Chairman Traditional Institution and Community Policing.

Though details of Okere’s new designation is yet to emerge, his appointment has raised speculations if the days of Eze Ohiri, as Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, are numbered.

The Imo State House of Assembly had last week passed a law which gave powers to Governor Hope Uzodinma to appoint officials of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers. This was said to have unsettled the number one traditional ruler in the state.

The appointment of Eze Okeke as Chairman, Traditional Institution, in the State, may also divide the Council of Traditional Rulers, in the State which Ohiri heads, as most of the traditional rulers in the State may switch allegiance to Eze Okeke.
