How N330 Million Pension Fund Was Fleeced In Imo, CAN Reacts

Shocking revelations has emerged how eight persons fleeced N330 million naira pension fund in Imo State. 

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in a statement in Owerri signed by it’s President, Revd Eches Divine Eches, urged the Imo State government to make public names of the perpetrators and their collaborators, saying “we believe the eight man syndicate cannot do this alone”

The group noted that the culprits either serving or retired must be compelled to face the full wrath of the law to serve as detterent to others, who may contemplate such in the future.

It condemned the act which it described as wicked which should not be condoned in any sane environment.

Pensioners in Imo State had taken to the streets in Owerri on Monday to demand payment of their pensions which they claimed they received last four months ago.

The Imo State government had assured that it will pay the Pensioners last Friday.
