South East APC Leaders Speak On Marginalization, Igbo Presidency

South East Leaders of the All Progressive Congress, APC, met in Owerri, where they unanimously stated that the region is not marginalized but rather united now ever before.

They contend that the claim of marginalization of Ndi Igbo, is the figment of the imagination of those who are not well informed.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting convened by Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, former Senate President who is representing the South East in the National Caretaker Committee, said the South East is witnessing a new era with the high performance of it’s leaders.

Nnamani said the APC Leaders were also in the State to show solidarity to Governor Hope Uzodinma, who is the only APC Governor in the State.

Speaking on the quest of Igbo to produce the next President of Nigeria, Governor Hope Uzodinma said what Igbo should rather bother themselves is ‘Nigerian President of Igbo extraction’

“The South East is part of Nigeria, South East leaders exhibit all qualities and capabilities for good governance and as such believe that the APC as the ruling party in Nigeria will make the right decision at the appropriate time” he said

Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr.Chris Ngige said they as Ministers from the South East and as members of the Federal Executive Council, are “getting what is due share for the South East”

Ngige said the South East has benefited from several Federal Government projects which include: N Power project, Home School Feeding Programme, East Coast Rail Project from Lagos-Benin- Onitsha- Nnewi to Owerri.

Those present at the meeting include former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, Minister of Science and Technology, Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr.Chris Ngige, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of State, Mines and Development, Dr.Uche Ogah, Minister of State, Education, Dr.Emeka Nwajiuba, and other party stalwarts from the South East.
