Owerri Based Newspaper Publisher Buries Dad July 30

The remains of Late Catechist Emmanuel Onyemauchechukwu Emeagi father of the Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of Nigerian Newsguide Newspaper Mr. Chidi Emeagi will be laid to rest on Thursday 30th July, 2020 in his compound Umudurunnuihe Umuhu 1 Atta Ikeduru.

A statement by the first son of the deceased Mr. Chidi Emeagi says the body shall depart Chetakwa Mortuary Owerri by 7.30am for lying in state in his compound and thereafter proceed to St. Paul’s Anglican Parish Umuhu Atta for Funeral Service at 10am.

According to the statement, the Bishop of Ikeduru Diocese, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maduwike PhD shall preside over the special commendation service alongside His Lordship Rt. Rev. Benjamin Okeke, JP Bishop of Orlu and other clerics, Catechists and Church Teachers from across Owerri Ecclesiastical Province. 

Late Catechist Emeagi was an exceptional Anglican Missionary who worked tirelessly for the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He moved from one rural community to another for church planting and watering in the old Owerri and Orlu Dioceses.

He retired from active service in 2006 after serving at St Andrew’s Church Amannachi, Orsu Area Council of Imo State. “Nna anyi Emeagi” as he was fondly called died on Friday June 19th 2020 in a Private Hospital around World Bank Area of Owerri after a protracted illness at the age of 74.

He is survived by four children, grand children and other relations among whom is Mr. Chidi Emeagi, Publisher of Nigerian Newsguide Newspaper.
