Members of Imo State House of Assembly who reportedly have not received their two months salaries, now have cause to smile.

Reason: they have received their two months pay for the month of May and June.

Aside the Lawmakers who were owed salaries, no sector has been spared lately in the State from non payment of salaries. Pensioners and Workers in the State had taken to the streets countless times to protest non payment of salaries by the State government.

The Lawmakers were said to have intensified pressure on the Governor requesting payment of two months salaries.

One of the Lawmakers confirmed to this newspaper that “we have received payment of salaries for the month of May and June”

When this newspaper inquired if they have received constituency allowance, the Lawmaker replied ” We are talking of salaries, abi, that I can tell we have received. Good day”
