All is now set for, Chief Barr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye, the 2019 Imo State gubernatorial candidate of Action Democratic party (ADP) to dump the party on Saturday, 29th August, 2020 and join All Progressives Congress (APC).
Chief Akagburuonye, an astute politician, who hails from Ogbor Uvuru in Aboh Mbaise Council Area of the State, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing newsmen at his Restoration Campaign Organization Secretariat at his Oke Uvuru ancestral market square.
He also said that the historic event will witness his unveiling as the State Patron of Onwa Grassroot Mobilizers For Good Goverance by the leadership of the group.
He said he is divinely motivated to join the APC with thousands of his supporters in the 27 local government areas and 305 electoral wards of the state, at an event to be adjudged a world class political occasion secheduled hold at Aboh Mbaise Council secretariat and his ancestral home campaign headquarters respectively.
According to him, he is joining the APC, based on his conviction, on the need for Ndigbo to be firmly gripped in national politics and to identify with Governor Hope Uzodimma in his administration”s patriotic mission of transforming and repositioning the Eastern Heartland State through his Shared Prosperity and 3R mantra.
The philanthropist and political icon who is popularly known as the Akaraugo 1 of Mbaise Ancient Clan, described his move to the APC as political earthquake that would collapse the entire structure of ADP and whittle down political activities of opposition in the state.
Akagburuonye who holds a Masters Degree in Law from the Kogi State University, Anyigba and a Masters Degree in Engineering Planning and Structure from Los Angeles University,USA, said that he is a firm believer in the politics of conscience and fear of God.
He further advised Imo citizens on the need for them to give their maximum support and co-operation to the visionary and purposeful governance of Senator Hope Uzodimma, insisting that the Governor means well for the State and its populace.
He reassured of his commitment to uplift the party, stating that his mission in politics is to serve humanity and better the environment in the overall interest of mankind.
