Imo Govt Warns Trespassers At Public Building Layout, Onitsha Road, Owerri

The Imo State Commissioner of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Barrister Enyinnaya Onuegbu has issued a stern warning to tresspassers into an expanse of land called Government public building layout at Onitsha Road, Owerri.

A statement he signed and made available to this newspaper reads:

“The attention of the Imo State Government has been drawn to the unwholesome and illegal trespassory conduct of unauthorized third parties into the expanse of land opposite the Alvana Secondary school called public building layout South of Onitsha Road Industrial layout along Onitsha Road, Owerri.

“We wish to remind members of the public that the said Land is and remains the exclusive property of the Imo State Government

“Consequently, no person, authority or any agency of any level of Government in Nigeria has been granted allocation or title over the said land.

“The Imo State Government is also aware that certain unscrupulous persons have prepared allocation papers dated to 2013 purporting allocation of portions of the said land to their cronies and are currently advertising such allocations for sale to unsuspecting members of the public at ridiculously undervalued rates.

“This notice serves to WARN the public to steer clear of the said expanse of land called public building layout South of Onitsha Road Industrial layout Onitsha Road, Owerri which has been designated by the Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, for overriding public use under the land Use Act.

“The Imo State Government shall neither countenance not regularize any purported acquisition by any person or agency of any portion of the said land.
