Former Chairmanship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State, Chief Chuks Ajaelu, PHF, has congratulated Engr. Charles Ugwu, on his emergence as Chairman of the party in Imo State.

Ajaelu also commended members of the State Working Committee, SWC, who were elected during the party’s state congress held on Saturday, August 1st, 2020.

In a statement released by his media office in Owerri, Ajaelu, who was prevailed by party leaders to withdraw his chairmanship bid on the day of the congress to support Engr Ugwu, called on the new party helmsman, to intensify efforts to reposition the PDP in Imo State, to be able to effectively play its role as a leading opposition party in the state, poised to take over governance from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, in 2023.

He also called on the new party boss, to devise ways of moving the PDP forward in the State, and encourage party faithful and members to continue to maintain their faith in the PDP ahead of the 2023 elections.

Ajaelu said “I implore Engr Ugwu to bring his wealth of experience and fountain of knowledge in rebuilding the PDP in Imo State. With the active support and collaboration of the State Working Committee, our great party will soar and by the grace of God, will continue to be the choice party of the people of Imo State in the next democratic dispensation

He also assured of his undiluted loyalty to the party leadership, leaders and elders of the party, stating that what the party leadership and members need at the moment is to work together as one family and move the party forward.

“I remain loyal to our party leaders and elders, as I will continue to unwaver in my support and commitment to the cause of the party now and in the future. As a committed and dedicated party member, my support will remain with the party” the statement concluded.
