APC Settles Nlemigbo, Nwafor Rift Ahead Of Okigwe Senate Election

BY RALPH EJIMKONYE

The national caretaker committee of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has finally backed the Marcellinus Nlemigbo led caretaker Committee, against the Nwafor faction of the party.

The Imo State State chapter of the party had been embroiled in a festering crisis over a lingering leadership tussle.

The Marcel Nlemigbo led Caretaker Committee is backed by Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Former Governor of the State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, is behind the Daniel Nwafor faction.

This has generated so much fuss in the party but all that has been settled with the timely intervention of the national caretaker committee ahead of the Okigwe senate bye election.

In a letter to INEC signed by Gov Mai Mala Buni, National Chairman, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Committee, it directed Nwafor to steer clear from the party, as it t has allotted Nlemigbo led caretaker committee the power to pilot the affairs of the party in the State.

Part of the letter states “From the above, the present situation is that, Mr.Daniel Nwafor, until there is a contary order of the court, is restrained from conducting himself as the chairman of the party in Imo State. Therefore, status quo has reverted back to the Chief Marcel Nlemigbo led caretaker Committee”
