Governor Hope Uzodinma has directed his appointees to tender their performance reports since they were appointed into office.
This formed part of deliberations at a crucial meeting between the Governor and all his appointees, comprising Commissioners, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants, SSA, held at Sam Mbakwe Expanded Exco Chambers, Government House, Owerri.
Uzodinma, Wednesday gifted all his appointees official vehicles to aid their operations.
A source said despite receiving the vehicles, most of the appointees are scared that the performance report requested by the Governor from them, will serve as a basis to either retain or sack them.
“A performance report sounds like a handover note and this has generated tension among some of the appointees who have now resorted to lobbying” the source said.
This newspaper had reported that Governor Uzodinma is bent on repositioning his administration for greater performance.
His administration had come under criticisms for appointing “overbloated” number of appointees.
