The South East Coalition Of Good Governance, SECG, has announced it’s readiness to unveil those it described as “Igbo First Eleven, competent enough to aspire and govern the country in 2023”
The Coalition had last month advised APC National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to shelve his presidential ambition in 2023, and support the quest by Igbo to produce the nation’s next president after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure
In it’s resolution after its emergency meeting held in Enugu, which was made available to INNONEWS, SECG, said those it considered for the Presidency “are men and women of quality, competent, capable, acceptable to the North, recognized in the South”
The resolution signed by Fidelis Ukandu, President of the Coalition said “the first Eleven will be announced at the appropriate time and the coalition will embark on consultations across the country to market the candidature of those it selected if it gets the approval of those involved to do so.
The group however noted that ” it will go ahead to reduce the number of those it has shortlisted to five.
The SECG said “it is irrevocably committed to ensure the success of a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in 2023”
