Last Saturday,Chief Ikedi Ohakim , Former Governor of Imo State at the weekend presented a sculptural bronze from Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo State Chapter to Rt. Revd Chidi Collins Oparaojiaku, the Bishop of Ohaji Egbema Anglican Diocese.


The gift was SWAN’s own way of celebrating the prelate on the occasion of his 60th birthday anniversary.


Ohakim, a grand patron of SWAN attended the 60th birthday celebration of the prelate held at Cathedral of St. Peter Umuokanne Ohaji in Ohaji Egbema LGA with his wife, Barrister Chioma.


He described the prelate as a true servant of God and enjoined members of the association to remain focused and committed in the ethics and tenets of their journalism profession.


Similarly, Engr. Raymond Ogara, a co-chairman of the bishop’s 60th birthday Party Planning and Organizing Committee described the celebrant as “God sent” in view of his contributions in the uplift of the diocese.


He pointed out that the celebrant is also on a mission of converting the people to worship God in truth and spirit, recalling how he discouraged most Christians from attending their Owu cultural fiesta.


According to him “Bishop Oparaojiaku has alleviated the sufferings of indigent members of the diocese and uplifted them spiritually through his educational and entrepreneurship foundations.
