Details surfaced Wednesday how the N5 billion naira loan approved for Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, by the Imo State House of Assembly, will be utilized.
The lawmakers had approved the Governor’s request as contained in a letter to the Speaker of the House, Chiji Collins, from the Governor, which was read on the floor of the Assembly during plenary on Tuesday.
According to the Governor’s letter to the Speaker, the N5billion naira loan facility will be drawn from Heritage Bank and will be used for the purchase of official vehicles for Permanent Secretaries, political appointees and civil servants in the State.
The loan request, it was further gathered, was approved by the State Executive Council, at a meeting held on September 30th, 2020 at the Exco Chambers, Government House, Owerri.
According to the letter as read by the Speaker, the loan facility will aid in encouraging, stimulate and upgrade the Imo state workforce for optimal performance.
Some of the vehicles to be purchased with the loan facility include Innoson IVF pick up vans, Innoson IVF carriers, Innoson buses and Hyundai buses.
Recall that Governor Hope Uzodinma, had last month purchased and distributed SUV vehicles to his political appointees and permanent secretaries.
Civil servants also received coaster buses.
