Endsars Protest:Tension In Imo, Hoodlums Set Police Station Ablaze

  • Violence broke Out in Mbaitoli LGA despite 24 hour curfew in the State

There was tension in Imo State on Wednesday as t armed hoodlums stormed a Police Station, at Nwaorieubi, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, setting it ablaze.

Reports say two policemen and a soldier stationed at a popular checking point at Ubomiri, very close to the torched police station were killed in the process.

Eye witness claimed that some suspects held in the police cells were also freed. There was no independent verification of this claim.

Another Police station at Orji in Owerri North Local Government Area was said to be set on fire.

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, had on Wednesday imposed a 24 hour curfew in the State.
