Following reports that Governor Hope Uzodinma may sack the 27 local government Management Committees soon,  pressure has come on the Governor and his close allies, from his associates, appointees and some members of the State House of Assembly.

INNONEWS had exclusively reported that the 27 Council bosses, and members of management Committees in the 27 LGAs, are on the verge of being sacked, seven months after being appointed.

The Chairmen, who had spent seven months in office, are largely adjudged to have performed below average.

Since news of the impending sack broke out, the Governor’s top associates, are to have been besieged by his appointees and “other interested stakeholders in the government “, seeking to make fresh nominees for the LG jobs if possible.

Party leaders are also not left out of the fray in the scramble.A source told this newspaper that “It is barely 24 hours, that news went round that the Chairmen may be sacked, and this has generated tension and anxiety within government circle. The current Chairmen, are now reaching out to ascertain if they will survive the looming sack, or if the news of their sack is real

“Some of the Governor’s men have been besieged. Already lobbying for the replacement of the Council Chairmen have begun in earnest. It is really shocking how barely a day news went round that the Chairmen will be sacked, lobbying for their replacement has begun in earnest.

“Some of the appointees, even some members of the State House of Assembly, have already begun to scheme for replacements when the present Chairmen have not been officially sacked.

This newspaper had reported that Governor Hope Uzodinma had solely appointed the Council Chairmen, a development which did not go down well with party leaders and stakeholders in the local Governments.

This has continually led to face off between appointees of the Governor, and the Council Chairmen. In some cases, votes of confidence were passed on them by stakeholders and party leaders in their respective domains.
