- Nwafor Gains Ground Over Nlemigbo In Battle For Soul of Imo APC
- Okorocha, Araraume Overtaking Uzodinma In Race To Control Party

The battle for the soul of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo State seems to be tilting in favour of the camp of former governor of the state, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.
The duo are solidly behind Mr. Dan Nwafor, the acclaimed Chairman of the party in the state.
The Court Of Appeal, Abuja, presided by Justice Ige, Monday, refused to vacate an order of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which had on July 18, 2019, declared Nwafor led exco as authentic leadership of the APC in Imo State.
The APC in Imo State seemingly controlled by Governor Hope Uzodinma, is behind the state caretaker Committee led by Marcellinus Nlemigbo, which was instituted by the outgone former National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole.
The recent judgement of the Court of Appeal entails that in the eyes of the law at the moment, the authentic APC State exco in Imo State is led by Daniel Nwafor.
This put a question mark on the legality or otherwise of the Nlemigbo led caretaker Committee, which is however recognized by the National Caretaker/Extraordinary Planning Convention Committee, CECPC led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.
Nlemigbo, was among 35 other state chairmen, who passed a vote of confidence on Mai Mala Buni led CECPC.
Last week, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, a strategic ally of Senator Rochas Okorocha, was given all clear as candidate of Okigwe Senatorial election.
The Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, sacked Frank Ibezim, as candidate of the party for Okigwe senate election, and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to replace Ibezim with Araraume as candidate of the party for Okigwe senate election.
The ruling is subject to the verdict of the Court of Appeal and perharps, the Supreme Court.
Ibezim is the choice candidate of Governor Hope Uzodinma and Minister of State, Education, Emeka Nwajiuba.
These lastest developments in the party has changed the colouration of the battle for the soul of Imo APC with the Okorocha/Araraume camp getting the upper hand thus far.
