Three South East governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have been fingered to lead a mass defection from the party, if the opposition party fails to reveal where it intends to zone the 2023 presidency.

A youth body, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Youth Council, in a statement by its President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzro, said the PDP can use the opportunity of its November 18 Board of Trustees Meeting, BOT and the National Executive Council,NEC meeting slated for November 19, 2020 to revert back to zoning as enshrined in the party’s Constitution.

The Youth Body also said it will oppose any Igbo politician caught negotiating for vice presidential ticket.

Recall that Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi  State has said he is set to leave the PDP if the party fails to zone the Presidency to the South East zone.

He claimed the All Progressive Congress, APC has resolved to zone the presidency to the region in 2023.

There are concerns that the party which has been massively supported by the South East since 1999 risk mass defections if it fails to zone its 2023 presidential ticket to the zone.
