The war of words between Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, and Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Paul Emeziem, has continued ceaselessly bordering on the emergence of Emeziem as number three citizen of the State.

Araraume had at an APC campaign rally in Onuimo Local Government Area claimed that he was key to the emergence of Emeziem as Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly.  The Speaker, replied the APC Okigwe Senatorial candidate, saying it was God, and not the Senator who made him Speaker.

But the Senator’s media team replied, Friday, in a statement telling the Speaker that “We are so pleased that he mentioned God as an indispensable factor of success in his political journey. However, he should realize that God uses human beings to lift others as He does not come down from heaven to do so”

“For instance, before Rt Hon Emeziem became the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), he lost the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Fortunately for him, Chief Stanley Nzekwe brought him to Senator Araraume and begged on his behalf to be considered for the ticket. Senator Araraume obliged and convinced every other aspirant to step down for him. So he became the flag bearer.

“Senator Araraume took it upon himself to ensure he delivered all of them from Okigwe zone. This he achieved as his structure was solidly on ground. Emeziem spent little or nothing while the fortunes of Araraume smiled on him.

“One would wonder if Emeziem had all it takes to defeat the two mighty political parties namely, the PDP and APC if he was to vie for the position through any other party. It should be recalled that even his result was seized and it still took Senator Araraume who had to intervene and get his result released before he was declared winner.

“As at then, it was so clear to every Tom, Dick and Harry including Emeziem himself that he (Emeziem) lacked the minimum capacity and appeal required to win even a councillorship. That is why he saw a saving grace in Araraume to whom he ran. This, the PDP observed and decided not to waste their ticket on him meaning they considered him a liability.

“In life, every good gesture shown to one by his or her fellow is usually regarded as an act of God. But that does not obviate the place of commendation to the instrument used by God to extend the gesture” the statement concluded
