- Federal High Court, Owerri had ordered INEC to replace Ibezim with Senator Araraume as candidate of the APC
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Thursday released list of candidates eligible to participate in the Okigwe senate election.
Those listed include Senator Ifeanyi Araraume who was listed as candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Recall that Federal High Court, Owerri, had ordered INEC to replace Frank Ibezim with Senator Araraume as candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC for the Okigwe senate election.
In his ruling, in Suit no FHC/Ow/101/2020,Justice Tegem nullified the election of Frank Ibezim as candidate of the party, on the grounds that he was disqualified by the party’s screening Committee before the primary election, to elect a candidate of the APC for Okigwe senate election.
According to the commission, others eligible to participate in the election include Hon Emmanuel Okewulonu (PDP), Ndubueze Patrick (Accord), Emmanuel Ogueri, (AA), Nathaniel Chukwudi Uba (AAC), Chigozie Kennedy Onyinye (ADC), Charles Onyirimba (APGA), Ralpheal Mabchu (APM), Ernest Ezirim (APP).
