• Osuagwu is a frontline aspirant for Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Presidency

An aspirant for Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Presidency,  Chidi Osuagwu Phd, has outlined plans for the benefit of Igbo nation if he is elected to lead the apex Igbo pan organization.

Ohaneze Ndi Igbo is expected to hold its presidential election in January 2021 to elect a new president general to replace John Nnia Nwodo. The Presidency of the group has been zoned to Imo State.

Speaking to newsmen in Owerri on his intentions to lead Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Osuagwu said he is committed to revive the waning Igbo language, and also key into the vision of Association Of Town Unions, ASETU, which seeks “to return Ndi Igbo to that unique Igbo home grown leadership and unique approach to problem solving”

“Not only that I share this vision I look forward to working in tandem with them to reaching the grassroots and sewing back the very fabric of the Igbo race all over the world to become stronger and better positioned to play their rightful role as a people” he said

Osuagwu promised to seek a new deal for the Igbo, and also rekindle the Igbo spirit.

“If elected, my leadership must seek to rekindle that Igbo spirit, that resilient and can do attitude that has led them in the past to do the greatest things. The same spirit that helped them to survive some of the greatest challenges to ever confront any group of people on the face of the earth, yet through those rubble of despair and destruction they arose, not just to survive, but to thrive as the water mark of achievement even after a very destructive Civil helped the rest of the country to heal and progress” Osuagwu said.

Osuagwu assured that he will lead efforts “to re-calibrate the Igbo homeland economy, by building confidence in our people the wonders we have done across the world here in Igboland. We have a duty to end the spilling of Igbo blood anywhere in Nigeria no matter the pretext it occurs”

He also promised to carry out reforms in Ohaneze Ndi Igbo by “articulating new and bold ideas as we make a paradigm shift away from some of the old Ohaneze Idiosyncrasy and compromises which has greatly constrained us and limit our ability to be both assertive and proactive when the moment and realities demand for both leadership”

He also assured that the unity of the Igbo people will be restored if he emerges President of the organization.

“This moment holds enormous possibilities for our people. The dreams of greatness that we share as Ndigbo shall never be aborted. Our undying spirit of dedication shall preserve. The unity of Ndigbo everywhere in the world must be restored” he concluded
