Araraume Vs Ibezim: What Appeal Court, Owerri Told INEC To Do

The legal fireworks over the candidacy of the All Progressive Congress, APC, for Okigwe senate election, came up at the Court of Appeal, Owerri, Friday, 4th December, 2020.

Justice Uchechukwu Onyemenam, in his ruling less than 24 hours to the Okigwe senate bye election, declared Frank Ibezim, as candidate of the party, directing the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to list him immediately as candidate of the APC for the polls.

The Judge further faulted the verdict of the Federal High Court, Owerri of November 6 which had sacked Ibezim as candidate of the party.

The Okigwe senate -bye election will take place in 64 wards across six local governments namely Okigwe North, Okigwe South Onuimo, Ehime Mbano, Isiala Mbano, Obowo local governments.

14 candidates of various political parties are taking part in the election.
