Political leaders of Owerri zone should have presented a “shopping list” to Governor Hope Uzodinmma during a grand reception organized for him recently.
This was revealed by a political analyst, Mr. Collins Opuruzor, who spoke on a Radio programme in Owerri.
Recall that political leaders in Owerri zone had recently held a civic reception for Governor Uzodimma.
Elder statesman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, at the event assured the Governor that Owerri zone will vote for him during the 2023 governorship election.
This had generated reactions, from socio political groups such as Olu Owerri, who advised the elder statesman to henceforth speak for himself and members of his family.
Opuruozor expressed regret that no list of demands by the people of Owerri zone was presented to the governor at the reception.He said the allies of the governor who floated the reception only succeeded to entertain the governor and his guests.
The Political analyst said it is too early to play the politics of second term when the governor was yet to acquit himself creditably without the challenges of his office.
While saying the governor’s allies didn’t help him by starting 2023 campaign early, Opuruozor insisted that the governor should be put on his toes to deliver dividends of democracy to people. He condemned a situation whereby the people would be hailing the governor even when he had not done anything tangible only to begin to murmur after he might have left office.
