‘APC In Tight Corner In Imo Ahead Of 2023’- Party Chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo State, Chief Anayo Unachukwu, has said the party is in a tight corner as it faces a herculean task to retain power in the State.

Unachukwu, who spoke to newsmen in Owerri, said the APC must buckle up in the state in 2021, through constructive engagement with the masses by the present administration in the State.

“The Uzodimma administration has a lot of work to do in the coming year. Though some of the efforts of the Governor are commendable, it is important he steps up the pace of governance and connect more with the Imo masses.

“This government is the live wire of the APC in Imo State. In other words, the achievements of the government will market the party in the State. If the government fails to perform, it will de-market the APC

“The sterling performance of Governor Uzodinma will either make or mar the chances of the APC in Imo State, and by extension enhance the electoral chances of the party in the South East

“With the quest for a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction on the front burner, the APC must do a lot in 2021, in Imo State, and in other South East States, to earn the support and confidence of Ndi Igbo

Unachukwu advised Governor Uzodimma “to as leader of the party in the State, initiate the process of reconciliation in the party by extending a hand of friendship to other notable leaders of the party”

He advised that the APC in the state should not rest on their oars, “because the PDP is lurking around the corner and has maintained its status as a vibrant opposition in the State”
