The Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Diocese, AJV Obinna, has described as misleading and false, news feed on the social media that the Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Catholic Diocese, Bishop Sam Chikwe has been killed by his abductors.
A statement by the Catholic Archbishop reads:
“His Grace, Most Reverend Anthony J.V Obinna, Archbishop of Owerri, hereby requests all Christs Faithful and people of goodwill of large to disregard the purported news feed by one Useni Yusuf of AJ Press on the killing of Auxilliary Bishop of Owerri Diocese, Most Rev Moses Chikwe
“This information is unconfirmed, misleading and does not come from the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri
“We continue to appeal that all join the Archbishop in prayers for the release of Bishop Chikwe and Mr. Ndubuisi Robert, his driver” the statement stated.
