Owerri, Imo State capital, went agog Sunday, when Majority Leader Emeritus, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon.Lugard Osuji, was investitured with Knight of Christopher by the Owerri Anglican Diocese.

The event took place at the Cathedral of Transfiguration of Our Lord, CATOL, Owerri.

The knighthood on Hon. Osuji is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Church.

The Investiture was also part of celebrations for Hon.Osuji, who is also celebrating his survival from a ghastly motor accident in December 2020.

Recall on December 23, 2020, the five traditional rulers in Owerre, had jointly conferred the prestigious Akajiudo title of Owerri Autonomous Communities on Hon. Osuji, in appreciation for his role, which led to the creation of five autonomous communities in Owerri and seven administrative areas for non Indigenes residing in Owerri.

Speaking on his investiture, Hon.Osuji thanked the Church for the honour done to him, and also promised to live up to the tenets of the knighthood of the Anglican Church.

Eminent personalities such as Imo State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Dan Nwafor, among others, graced the event at the home of the former State lawmaker who represented Owerri Municipal State constituency in the Imo State House from 2015- 2019.
