2023 Presidency: Group Drums Support For Gov Mohammed, Consult Iwuanyanwu

As the 2023 presidential election draws near and as the search for a new President intensifies, a group known as Coalition of Civil Society for Transparency and Good Governance has continued to drum support for Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed to run for president of Nigeria come 2023.

As part of their support,members of the Coalition visited elder statesman and Ahaejiagamba Ndi Igbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu in Owerri Imo State.

The delegation was led by Chief Marshal Kunoun. He reiterated that Governor Bala Mohammed is credible and has national acceptance to become the president of Nigeria.

He said based on Governor Mohammed’s acceptability nationwide, they came to Owerri to seek for the support and advice from Chief Iwuanyanwu, an elder statesman and live member of Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to Kunoun, The Coalition is delighted on Chief Iwuanyanwu’s stance on national issues, and canvassed his support for Governor Bala Mohammed, which he stated will be a great motivation to his aspiration.

In his remarks, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu described Governor Bala Mohammed as a long time friend who has the capability to rule Nigeria but advised that he consults widely.

Chief Iwuanyanwu reaffirmed his commitment to the unity of the country, stating that God has a purpose of bringing Nigerians together as one nation.

He recalled the negative impact of the Civil War in the country, praying that it will never repeat again, and advised leaders to act with caution in handling the farmer’s herder’s crisis which is disrupting the peace in the country.

Spokesman of  the group, Mr Martin Igwe, while defending on Gov Mohammed’s comments on farmers/herders crisis, said the Bauchi State Governor was quoted out of context by those afraid of the Governor’s rising profile and who are bent on causing crisis. He said such intention was dead on arrival and cannot deceive Nigerians
