Uzodimma’s Aide, Emele Tasks Journalists On Imo Govt 3R Mantra

The Special Adviser to the Imo Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief (Mrs) Rubby Emele has called on the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Imo Council to support the Gov. Hope Uzodimma led administration achieve its 3R – mantra of recovery, reconstruction and rehabilitation to move the state forward.

Emele made the call at the presentation of the Most Outstanding Press Friendly Personality 2020 award to her on Thursday in Owerri.

She said journalists could do this by the continuous sharpening of the positive thinking of the people of the state through reportage of the developmental strides of the present administration.

“Journalists in the state should help the Imo people know what the government is doing through the 3R mantra by positively reporting achievements. Making Imo better is a collective responsibility.

“Gov. Uzodimma means well for the people of the state. He is committed to changing the narrative, bringingout the best from workers and making Imo better and cannot do it alone,” she said.

The special adviser said her mission was to ensure the local governments are given a face lift, by creating a conducive atmosphere and providing them with basic amenities.

She listed some of her achievements since she took office and other plans on the pipeline for the development of LGAs and the state in general.

Emele, a former Imo ALGON chairperson commended Uzodimma for graciously providing the platform for her to serve the people and pledged to continue to contribute her best to the development of the state and the NUJ.

In a citation, Mrs Dorathy Ukaegbu, an Information officer of the ministry, described Emele as a great achiever, a good women mobiliser, who has served the state in different capacities and contributed immensely to its development.

The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Chris Akaraonye said the award was in recognition of chief Emele’s contribution and support to the union in the state and her good leadership style in various fields of endeavours and urged her not to relent.

Presenting the award, Akaraonye commended Mrs Emele for giving the local government councils in the state a facelift.

He noted that the NUJ would soon embark on a facility tour of LGAs to inspect the renovation works and other projects of the state government under the supervision of Mrs Emele.
