Political foot-soldiers of former Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha may be at cross roads over the worrisome silence of their leader, pertaining to the APC membership re-validation exercise.

Following the flag off of the exercise in the State by Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, it is uncertain if the former Governor and his army of loyalists will take part in the exercise.

Okorocha has been furious with his successor, Uzodimma over seeming irreconcilable political differences which borders on the soul of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State.

The former Governor insists that one of his political foot-soldier, Dan Nwafor remains the authentic State Chairman of the APC in the State. The Senator representing Imo West in the Senate, is opposed to Marcellinus Nlemigbo, a lackey of Uzodimma,  as Chairman of the APC.

Speculations has been rife that Okorocha could be on his way out of the APC.

Though he had denied plans to quit the ruling party after he had announced that he is bent on floating a new political party with progressive minds in the country, there are also speculations that he may opt to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the event he loses out in the battle for supremacy in the APC,  particularly in Imo State.

The former Governor and his political footsoldiers  can be said to be in dilemma viz a viz their political future in 2023.He is said to be eying the Presidency or as an alternative may seek for another term of four years to continue as Senator for Orlu zone.

Okorocha stirred the hornest nest last week when he claimed that former Governor of Imo State, Hon.Emeka Ihedioha, had approached him for reconciliation.

INNONEWS had also exclusively reported that Okorocha demanded an apology from Ihedioha and PDP leaders in the State for assaulting his daughter, Uloma Nwosu, as part of the deal for reconciliation with Ihedioha.

Neither Ihedioha or Okorocha camps refuted our report.

Based on the prevailing political development in the State,  loyalists of the former Governor are yet to be directed on the next political move as the APC membership re-validation kicks off.

There are fears in Okorocha’s camp that Governor Hope Uzodimma who seems to have hijacked the registration exercise in the State, may shut out Okorocha and his men from taking part in the exercise.

Uzodimma had debunked such assumptions, insisting that no one will be excluded from the exercise on the grounds that APC needs to be strengthened in the South East, as a basis to clinch Igbo Presidency.
