There are noticeable cracks in the Owerri zone chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, as leaders of the party of the zone are said not be on the same page.
The crack began after leaders of the zone had organized a grand reception for Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Owerri Zone APC leaders had staged a grand reception for Uzodimma last year.
Sources who spoke to INNONEWS said since after the event things are falling apart among leaders of the party.
The source said “The younger elements in the zone in the party are displeased with the manipulative tendencies of some leaders such as Prince Lemmy Akakem and Chief Charles Amadi (Charlvon), thus have resolved to chart a new path.
This newspaper gathered that this is the reason why the duo of Akakem and Charlvon and some appointees of the state government were absent at Owerri zone leaders summit convened by Chief Henry Njoku (Harritex) and business tycoon, Alex Mbata held last week.
“Though the summit was designed to attract Owerri zone leaders across board, irrespective of political leanings, the conveners of the summit are leading a new crop of leaders in the zone away from the grip of Akakem and Charlvon.
The summit had passed a resolution calling on Governor Hope Uzodimma to implement to the latter details of the White Paper of Judicial Panel of Inquiry which recommended forfeiture, seizure and demolition of properties stolen by former Governor Rochas Okorocha.
