2023: APC Constitutes Powerful Committee, Uzodimma Included, Okorocha Exempted

BY RALPH EJIMKONYE

The All Progressive Congress, APC, Monday signaled its readiness to retain power in 2023 by setting up a 61 member Contact/Strategy Committee comprising top leaders of the party including its founding members.

Sitting and former Governors, Ministers and lawmakers made the list, described by the party’s National Secretary, John Akpan Udoehede, “as part of ongoing efforts by the CECPC to rebuild and reposition our party”

Party sources said the list “will form the engine room for the party ahead of the 2023 Polls and those who made the cut seems to be those who are part and parcel of the new order in the APC”

From Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma and member of the House of Representatives, Miriam Onuoha made the list.

The surprise omission was former Governor of Imo State and Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Senator Rochas Okorocha.  None of his loyalists also made the cut.

Other leaders from the South East who made the list include Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, former APC governorship aspirant in Ebonyi State, Julius Ucha.

Others listed include House of Reps member from Abia State, Hon (Mrs) Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Mrs Magaret Okadigbo, Blessing Onuoha, Hon Anthony Oduma Agbo and strongman of Abia politics, B.B Apugo.
