*Nduka Anyawu Foundation Set To Award Scholarships To Students Of Ahiazu Mbaise Secondary School

A Chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state, Hon. Chief Nduka V. A Anyanwu has called on the Imo State government to invest more resources in the education sector in the state, in order to guarantee a bright future for the youths in the state, who are adjudged leaders of tomorrow

Hon. Anyanwu stated this when interacting with some journalists in Owerri, the state capital at the weekend

He regretted that the standard of education in the state and in the country at large is on the decline, stressing that if nothing serious is done to salvage the situation, the development and growth of the state will be in jeopardy.

Hon.  Anyanwu who is the President and founder of Nduka Anyanwu Foundation,  a humanitarian and a Non governmental organization known for enriching the life’s of many in the society,  especially the indigent and the youths in the State,  assured of his Foundation’s  resolve to keep assisting  humanity.

He maintained that if adequate attention is given to the education sector in the state and in the country especially in vocational education where graduates will become self employed and as well employ others, it will lead to curbing the high level of unemployment in the country.

The Imo APGA chieftain in the stat also known as Anyanwu N’etiri Oha condemned the lip service paid by the present administration in the state and in the country towards the education sector.

He called for a more concerted effort by the Imo State Government, by ensuring that about 90% of the amount budgeted for education in the state is ultilized in the fiscal year and not the other way round as it has been the case in the past.

Speaking on the upcoming debate competition initiated by the Nduka Anyanwu Foundation for all the secondary schools in Ahiazu Mbaise, the renowned philanthropist disclosed that the programme is part of his Foundation’s  yearly programme on education.

He expressed hope that the initiative will  touch the lives of many secondary school students in Ahiazu Mbaise and beyond to help contribute to the improvement of the education sector in the state.

Speaking further, the Founder and President of Nduka Anyanwu Foundation hinted that the debate competition will be hosted in two different schools in Ahiazu Mbaise namely: Group School Umuokirika after Nkwala and also Group School Afor Oru opposite Nduka Anyanwu Foundation head office on the 17th and 19th March 2021 respectively.

He also revealed that many prizes have been lined up for the students that will emerge successful at the end of the competition ranging from scholarships, cash award, writing materials and other incentives.

Hon. Nduka thereby wished the participating schools and students well and also prayed for more wisdom, knowledge to become the best they can be and as well successful in their academic pursuit. He further reminded the students that education remains the Key to success in life.
