Imo Town Unions Elect New President

Association of Imo State Indigeneous Town Unions elected a new President.

He is Mr. Samson Ogbso from Owerri West Local Government Area.

Ogbso takes over from Chief Emeka Diwe, the current President, South East Association of Indigeneous Town Unions, ASETU.

However, Mr. Monday Ikokwu, who vied and lost the presidential election, rejected the outcome of the polls, citing flaws in the electoral process.

Imo SWAN Demands Sack Of Sports Commissioner

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Imo State chapter, called for the sack of the State Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Social Development, Dan Ogu.

In a communique signed by a Drafting Commitee of the Association and endorsed by its Chairman, Everest Ezihe and Secretary, Tunde Liadi, the Sports Writers complained over “the worrying situation bedeviling Sports development in the State under the watch of the Sports Commissioner”

They called on the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma to either sack or redeploy the Commissioner from the Sports Ministry.

Uwazuruike To South East Governors: Take Over ESN From Nnamdi Kanu

Leader of defunct Movement For the Actualization of the Sovereign State Of Biafra, MASSOB, Ralph Uwazuruike called on South East Governors to take over the Eastern Security Network, ESN, from the grip of Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had set up the ESN, to check the activities of killer Fulani herdsmen in the South East.

Uwazuruike told newsmen in Owerri, that Kanu lacks the capacity to lead the struggle for the realization of Biafra.

“The South East Governors should take over the Eastern Security Network, ESN from Kanu. They should demobilize and re-train them” he said.

Imo Assembly Majority Leader Impeached

Majority Leader, Imo State House of Assemby, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu, was impeached by members of the House.

Speaker Paul Emeziem, who presided over plenary, Thursday, announced the impeachment of the Majority Leader.

The session took place under heavy security.

“Show Proof Of Ownership Of Property Before April 21 Or Risk Forfeiture- Imo Govt Tells Okorocha

The Imo State government advised former Governor of Imo State and Senator Representing Imo West at the Senate, Senator Rochas Okorocha, to show poof of ownership of his several properties on or before April 21, 2021, or such properties risk forfeiture.

This formed part of resolutions reached at the State Executive Council, SEC, held at Government House, Owerri, and presided by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
