BY NED NWOKO, AWKA

The South East Coalition for Good Governance, SECG, has hailed some prominent leaders of South South zone led by Chief Edwin Clark, for backing the South East in it’s quest to produce Nigeria’s President after the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

“We want the President coming after Buhari to come from the South East, we are together” Clark told a delegation of Ohaneze Ndigbo led by its President General, George Obiozor in Abuja.

Speaking to newsmen in Awka, President of the Coalition, Emmanuel Okwu said Dr. Clark deserves commendation “for towing the path of truth and equity”

“Dr. Clark has demonstrated that he is indeed a true statesman, who will not compromise the truth. He is a firm believer in equity. And we strongly commend him for this.

“We also admire his courage for speaking the truth, and we call on leaders of the South East to be motivated and encouraged by the immutable words of Dr. Clark.

Okwu enjoined Igbo leaders to continue the relentless agitation for a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in 2023, which he described as feasible.

“We should not lower the ante. We must continue the agitation to produce the nation’s President. It is not an impossible task or mission.

“We must unite as one and never waiver in this quest” Okwu said.
