Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has described the recent arrest of former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, as political persecution.
Wike spoke at the child dedication ceremony of the son of Okorocha’s son in law and former Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu in Abuja on Sunday.
“Political prosecution will come after you have left office so what you re going through is not peculiar with you and your family. I know they will come after me but am prepared, I m ready for them” he said
Okorocha was arrested last week by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. After spending two days in the custody of the anti graft agency, he was granted bail.
An aide of Governor Hope Uzodimma had revealed that a serving South South Governor, an Emir and former Senator from the North, stood in as sureties for the former Governor before he was released.
