Fidel Onyeneke Joins APC

A former Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Imo State chapter, Chief Fidel Onyeneke has formally joined the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Speaking at the declaration at Avu in Owerri West LGA, Onyeneke  stressed that the enhancement of peace and development in the Nigerian society was the joint responsibility of all individuals irrespective of political inclinations.

He said that people needed to join hands with government to uplift the living standards of the masses and improve the welfare of the citizenry.

He said that the government should be provided with advice that would solve the skyrocketing challenges of insecurity, hunger and unemployment among other societal ills. Chief Onyeneke called for the immediate rehabilitation of the Avu-Egbema road which had hindered the transportation of food items from Ohaji to other parts of Imo state.

He promised not to relent in contributing positively towards the socioeconomic well being of the people.

 In his speech,the Imo state Commissioner for Lands,Sir Noble Abiaso Atulegwu explained that the Uzodinma led administration had an enviable agenda that would emancipated Imo people from poverty and deprivation.

Mr Abiaso who described Chief Onyeneke as a huge asset to the society,urged the people to continue to support the state government as it serves the people creditably.

Also speaking,a Commissioner in ISIEC,Chief Charles Ohiri said that the Imo state government was determined to boost the infrastructural growth of the rural areas for the benefit of the masses. The SA to the Imo governor on print media,Sir Modestus Nwankpa assured that the government would continue to tap from the intellectual resources of technocrats in order to provide quality leadership to the people.Others dignatories at the occasion included an ISOPADEC Commissioner,Mr Tony Grey Okpe,Navy Commordore Ogechi Osuagwu (rtd),Mr Chinedu Ekeocha,political leaders and other party faithfuls.
