Imo State Commissioner for Power, Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu, has debunked newspaper write up which portrayed him in bad light before the public.

The Commissioner in a statement in Owerri said “That I remain loyal, elated and committed to being counted as one of the appointees of the performing Uzodinma Administration and any position thereby assigned is a treasured privilege”

 The full statement reads:

My attention has been drawn to an opinion article by one Mr. Chuks Ofurum in his “The Mouthpiece” column and published on Monday April 26 2021 at the back page of Daily Nigerian Horn Newspaper to which I wish to state this comprehensive rebuttal.

1.         That the write-up constitutes a grave embarrassment to me as a person, as a lawyer and as a political appointee of the “Shared Prosperity Administration of H.E. Dist. Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State”

2.         That I neither originated, spoke to, commissioned, authorized nor had any prior knowledge of the offensive write-up which is and remains a figment of the imagination of Mr. Chuks Ofurum and hereby completely disassociate myself from its wordings, contents, claims, innuendos and prognosis as they do not represent my personal view, conviction, disposition or character in every material particular either generally or et sequentes.

3.         That I remain loyal, elated and committed to being counted as one of the appointees of the performing Uzodinma Administration and any position thereby assigned is a treasured privilege.

4.         That I cannot and will not endorse any attempt by any person or group wallowing under blissful ignorance to run wild with conjectures on my assigned duties as a political appointee.

5.         That I shall without fail, resort to and have justifiable recourse to legal action with necessary approval of my Principal against breaches of my Constitutional Rights that negatively impact on my peaceable performance of assigned duties as a political appointee or prejudice with comradeship of my colleagues.

Dated this 27th day of April, 2021.

Signed

Enyinna Onuegbu Esq.

Hon. Comm., Ministry of Power

Imo State
