Nigerian women have been called upon to participate actively in the socio economic development and emancipation of Nigerian nation from its present political insecurity and economic quagmire.
An elder statesman and foremost philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, made the call when the leadership of the advocay for the empowerment of Nigerian women initiative paid him a visit in Abuja to honour their 2021 Intergrity and Peace Award
He recalled the roles played by such women as Mrs Margret Ekpo, Mrs Fumilayo Ransome Kuti, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Professor Dora Akunyili and Professor Alile Williams who blazed the trail in the emancipation of women struggles and professional tacts in their various fields.
Chief Iwuanyanwu maintained that with unity of purpose, Nigerian women can call the male folks to order by redirecting them on the need for cooperate and peaceful co-existence.
The great scientist and BOT member of the Peoples Democratic Party observed that all those involved in the ugly situation of Nigeria’s insecurity are children born by women pointing out that with proper advice, the mothers will be able to call their recalcitrant children to order and inculcate in them the dangers of shedding human blood.
Chief Iwuanyanwu commended the leadership and members of the Advocacy for the empowerment of Nigeria women Initiative for the visit and urged them to use the organization to foster peace in the country.
In her speech, the president for the Advocacy for the empowerment of Nigerian women initiative, Miss Hussiana Adamu said they were not ignorant of the unblemished records and antecedents of Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu a man they say has been so friendly and has empowered women and youths with his hard earned resources.
She said that Chief Iwuanyanwu’s unadulterated values of humility, hard work, integrity and above all utmost of all patriotism has been their sources of motivation and good moral upbringing.
The president of the Women Organization said that they must go out and scout for people like Chief Iwuanyanwu to come lead the nation.
She said that Chief Iwuanyawu is one of the first remaining fathers who has found satisfaction in human and women development adding that he has distinguished himself from others by setting the pace for excellence in his achievement and activities.
Continuing she said “We want you to keep the ball rolling as our father, role model and mentor of our generation and future generation. May your goodwill to the Nigerian women and humanity continue. May the spirit of our ancestors continue to bless you, grant you good health, long life and uncommon wisdom and grace needed to pilot the affairs of the organization under your stool”.
She said that Chief Iwuanyanwu‘s years of unblemished record will continue to linger as one in millions for unprecedented, monument and remarkable landmarks and prayed God in His infinite mercy to continue to use him for the growth and development of the nation.
Miss Hussiana said that the formation of the group was necessitated by the agitation of Nigeria women to be part of governance in the country and to be appointed in the leadership positions in Nigeria as it is done in other developed nations and following the Beijing conference in China 1985 of 35 parent affirmative action for women in terms of appointments in government agencies.
Chief Iwuanyanwu was at the visit presented with the AENWI Integrity/Peace Award 2021 as An ICON of Nation Building because of his contributions to humanity and society at large.
