Ex Imo NUJ Boss, Onyeneke Tasks Youths On Peace, Security

Following the rising insecurity in the country, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Imo State Council, Sir Fidel Onyeneke, has called on the Nigerian youths to embrace peace and partner security agencies to fight crime and other social vices in their various communities, noting that peace is the only thing that can engender good governance and youth emancipation which they crave for.


Onyeneke, made this call penultimate weekend, when the Avu youths interim executive paid him a courtesy visit at his Umuehieta, Avu, residence in Owerri West LGA, to officially identify with him and solicit for his fatherly advice on how to move their association and Avu Community forward.


Speaking on the occasion, the erstwhile NUJ boss, charged the youths to use their position to promote peace among the youths in Avu and beyond.


The Avu born veteran Journalist, who bemoaned the level of insecurity in the country, harped on the need to set up a formidable security outfit that will be working hand in glove with the security agencies in the State, with a few to stamping out all forms of social vices in their Community.


However, he used the opportunity to re-echo that the road construction in Avu along  Bishop Ezeugo road, which he attracted through his  brother, will extend to other parts of Avu, adding that it is his own Community service to Avu people.


Earlier, the youth president of Avu Community, Comr. Paschal Okoro, thanked Chief Onyeneke for his numerous contributions to the growth of Avu Community, and pledged that the youths will continue to work in synergy with him.
