The former National President- General of Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC), Engr. Bede Opara, has commended Governor Hope Uzodinma on road construction and rehabilitation in the state.

He said many roads constructed and ongoing have high multiplier effects on the state’s economic wellbeing and in other areas of life of the people.

Speaking in Owerri, on Tuesday, Opara, who is the immediate past chairman of APC, Ahiazu Mbaise local government area, observed that Uzodimma had touched the lives of Imo people by embarking on massive roads construction in the state, describing the choice of the roads so far constructed as “wise, well informed and of immense economic benefit to the people”.

The APC chieftain and renowned technocrat explained that Chukwuma Nwaoha Road which was previously “overlooked and abandoned by former administrations in the state is now being courageously rehabilitated by Governor Hope Uzodinma with Solar Street Lights and Pedestrian Walkways.

Adjudging the ongoing roads revolution as being solid, having lasting value, Opara praised the Governor for rehabilitating MCC- Uratta Road (now linked to Owerri Mall- Shop Rite), MCC- Egbu Road, Naze-Polynek Road, Poly Junction- Ogboshishi/FRSC, Whetheral- Toronto Road (linking Chukwuma Nwoha Road), Assumpta Cathedral- Port Harcourt Road, Orji -Okigwe Road, Owerri- Orlu Road, linkages of roads within the Aladinma and Catol environs and others outside Owerri town.

Assessing the various Roundabouts under construction as designed to give the state a face-lift, Opara advised Imo people to be “patient with the Governor as he is doing everything within his power to make the state attractive to investors which would lead to job creation in the state”.

On security, he expressed his gratitude to God that calmness has returned to the state and called on the people to cooperate with the Governor to move the state forward, urging them to be prayerful and close ranks to ensure the success of the shared prosperity administration.

He expressed confidence in the capacity of Uzodinma to transform the state and called for patience, understanding and synergy to make Imo the envy of others in terms of socio- economic development.
