Anambra State now have the highest number of new polling units in the South East.
INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, in a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja, said the Commission removed 749 polling units from inappropriate facilities natiowide
According to him, Nigeria now has 176, 846 full fledged polling units from the initial 119, 973 polling units. This is as a result of the recent conversion of existing voting points to units by the commission.
The North West zone has the highest number of polling units in the country with 41, 671.
Based on the additional polling units, the South East now have a total of 21, 631 polling units, with Anambra State having 5,720 polling units.
Others are Imo 4,758, Enugu 4,145, Abia 4, 062,Ebonyi 2, 946 polling units
